Amanda jozaitis: June 9
Amanda Jozaitis is an artist and graphic designer from La Porte IN. She graduated from the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design in 2009. She draws and paints buildings, maps, landscapes found locally, through travel, and from memory. She adds geometric and natural elements to create imaginative places of beauty and decay. She transfers her drawings to screens and uses screen printing to build layers and to create a study of art, design, composition, and narrative. The repetitive process of repeated imagery through screen printing, allows her to experiment with composition and narrative, making each piece unique. When she is not creating art, she designs for Region Press, a local screen printing company, that prints La Porte-inspired t-shirts.
